Face coverings can help reduce the spread of COVID-19. They stop droplets spreading when someone speaks, laughs, coughs or sneezes. There are a number of situations and locations where wearing a face covering is mandatory such as on public transport, visiting healthcare or aged care facilities, inside retail businesses or public venues such as museums and libraries.

If the Alert Level restrictions are not eased soon, we will see clubs closing their doors for good, says Clubs New Zealand.
“Clubs have continually supported the measures put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19, however, the current restrictions, which prohibit most club activities, including sports are strangling our clubs and reducing them to nothing more than food and beverage outlets”, says Chief Executive Larry Graham.
Future proofing your plastic cards

We have been receiving a few enquiries from clubs wanting to future proof their plastic cards to be compatible with new technology going forward.
The key for now is to print a QR code on the card which matches the Clubs New Zealand app. To do this your card printer needs to add a QR code with a text field which is your club number followed by the member number. Please contact National Office on 0800 425 827 to confirm your club code.
Clubs New Zealand 2021 National Census

Yesterday on the 15th September, all clubs were emailed the Clubs New Zealand 2021 National Census Document for completion.
This census is designed to provide a national snapshot of the club sector. It will present invaluable information to key industry stakeholders about the important role that clubs play in both their local communities and at a national level. This information is more important than ever given the age of COVID.
Clubs New Zealand 2021 Wage and Salary Guide

We would like to thank all clubs that participated in this years Wage and Salary Survey and are pleased to announce that the Clubs New Zealand 2021 Wage and Salary Guide is now available for members to download in the resource room.
The 2021 Wage and Salary Survey was conducted as an online survey from 5th July 2021 through to 31st August 2021 for which we received a total of 115 responses.

The latest Alert Level 2 restrictions which cut indoor limits for hospitality venues to 50, may be the final straw for many clubs, says Clubs New Zealand.

Clubs New Zealand App Competition Winner

Throughout the month of July we have had a competition running to celebrate the launch of the Clubs New Zealand Mobile App Update. Every club member that downloaded the updated app and signed up went in the draw to win an iPhone 12.
The entries closed on Saturday 31st July and yesterday the draw was conducted to select a winner. We would like to congratulate Helen Miller from the Johnsonville Club. From all of us at Clubs New Zealand congratulations Helen.
Age friendly community funding

The 2021 funding round for the Office for Seniors Age friendly Fund (formerly known as the Community Connects Grants Programme) opens this month.
The Age friendly Fund supports projects that promote the inclusion and contribution of older people in community life and support their community to prepare for an ageing population.

The low down on providing EV charging

Given the emphasis that the Government is placing on it, and the release of vehicles such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E, it is safe to say the electric vehicles will be playing a larger part in our future. With that in mind, it may be worthwhile to consider a charging station for your club carpark. The theory being that visitors could charge their vehicle while taking advantage of the club’s hospitality.
