The Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club is hosting the inaugural Clubs New Zealand Quiz Championship final on Saturday, November 16 with teams from up to 40 clubs expected to participate.

Believe It Or Not Sales & Marketing Manager Brendan Lockhead and Club’s New Zealand's South Island representative Keith Ballanatyne have been the driving forces behind the quiz series. And thanks to the generous support of Lion Breweries $10,000 in prizes is available and there is no cost to participate.

Update on Cashless Gaming Work

For those clubs operating Class 4 Gaming, you will all be aware that back in June the DIA put out a call for expressions of interest from those wishing to be involved in a working group on cashless gaming.

Recently we received an update on the cashless gambling work, advising that based on feedback, the Department have decided to expand the scope of this work to consider gambling technologies more broadly.

Calling 'time' on cheques

Inland Revenue and the Accident Compensation Corporation are calling ‘time’ on cheques.

From March next year, IR and ACC will no longer accept payments by cheque from customers who are able to use alternative payment options.

IR received more than 430,000 cheques last financial year, the largest number received by any public sector agency. ACC received approximately 25,000 cheques from business customers.
