As you will be aware the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 came into effect on Tuesday 1 December 2020.
Here at Clubs New Zealand we take your privacy seriously, we have updated our privacy statement and will continue to regularly review the functionality to our website and mobile app to better manage privacy. We have appointed Lucy Waterreus and Leigh Williams as our privacy officers, should you need anything further.
TAB Conference Call - TABTEXT Update and Retail Objectives
26 November 2020
This week a number of Club Managers along with Clubs New Zealand staff were invited to participate in a conference call with TAB GM Broadcasting and Operations, Edward Rennell. The purpose of the call was to allow the TAB to provide further details on the TABTEXT project and to provide an update on TAB retail objectives and priorities over the next 12 months. As well as provide an opportunity for club managers to discuss any other TAB related topics.
Changes to gambling licensing

The DIA have now completed the system upgrade and are able to process applications and issue licences again. You may notice a few changes as a result of the system changes that have been made:
No Vaping Please
25 November 2020
Vaping is now officially banned from the workplace.
Since the 11th November 2020 the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (Vaping) Amendment Act 2020 has come into force which now includes vaping and vape type products including e-cigarettes under the same restrictions as tobacco products.

This family raceday is perfect to pitch up a tent in the sunshine, enjoy a picnic on the lawn and have a flutter on the racing while the kids can run wild on a huge range off FREE activities.
Are your Gaming Compliance Manuals up to date?

At the beginning of 2019 all Clubs New Zealand member clubs that operate class 4 gaming machines were provided with the Clubs New Zealand Gaming Compliance Manuals. The folders were produced by Clubs New Zealand with support from the Department of Internal Affairs and legal experts, with the simple aim of assisting clubs improve their compliance with the Gambling Act and The Gambling (Harm Prevention and Minimisation) Regulations 2004.
The folders have been in clubs for almost two years now and we trust that they have become a part of your everyday gaming activities.
Christmas and New Year Public Holiday Entitlements 2020/21

The Christmas and New Year period is fast approaching, as of today there are just 43 days until Christmas. This year the Christmas and New Year public holidays fall on Friday 25 December, Saturday 26 December, Friday 1 January and Saturday 2 January. Christmas Day and New Years day will be observed on the day that they fall. Boxing Day and the Day after New Years will be subject to Mondayisation.
Mondayisation always throws up a few curly questions so it is important that you take the time to ensure that you fully understand your employees entitlements.
