Club Management Conference 2021

This year the Club Management Conference will be held at Whangamata Club from Tuesday 16th November through to Thursday 18th November 2021.

An accommodation list will be released soon, but given the location clubs may wish to look at Airbnb or Bookabach

Incomplete club licence renewal applications (GC7s)

The DIA has reached out to Clubs New Zealand to express its concern at the large number of incomplete club licence renewals (GC7s) being submitted, claiming that some are virtually empty.

The DIA have exercised some discretion in response to incomplete applications, however, they have now stated that "there must come a point at which we must say enough is enough". The DIA have the power to return incomplete applications. They have chosen not to do that to a meaningful extent yet. But they may need to. If that were to happen, the clubs involved would likely need to stop their gaming activities. It all becomes a bit complex quite quickly.

Concern Database Changes

31 March 2021

Over the past week we have been updating the Concern Database to comply with the latest requirements from the DIA and Salvation Army.  Using a generic name such as Manager or the club name to sign the exclusions is no longer accepted.  A full name is not necessary, just the first name of the manager (or person responsible for gaming exclusions) is fine.  We have been updating records to match the name we have on file.  If you would like to use a different name, please contact Leigh so he can update as required.

Incorporated Societies Bill Introduced to Parliament

It has been a long time coming but on 17th March 2021 the Incorporated Societies Bill was introduced to Parliament.

The purpose of this bill is to put in place a modern framework of basic legal, governance, and accountability obligations for incorporated societies and those who run them.

ClubTAB Remuneration Model Changes

The below memo from the TAB discusses the upcoming remuneration model changes.  If you club is yet to receive a letter regarding the changes, it is not far away.

Given feedback received and after close liaison with Clubs NZ, TAB NZ have agreed to amend the ClubTAB remuneration model effective Monday 9 August 2021. These changes involve adjusting the ClubTAB remuneration model to make this consistent with that of TAB NZ’s remuneration model with PubTAB’s.

Clubs New Zealand 2021 Conference, AGM & EXPO - WRAP UP

The Clubs New Zealand 2021 Conference, AGM & EXPO was held from the 19th through to the 22nd of March hosted by the Richmond Club. The Clubs New Zealand Conference, and & EXPO gives clubs from right across New Zealand the opportunity to come together, enjoy each other’s company and learn about fantastic opportunities, new ideas and more.  What made this conference so much more special was that it was our first major get together since COVID and for the Richmond Club a chance to show off the results of many years hard slog. We would like to thank everyone who attended conference this year and we would like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to the Richmond Club for being fantastic hosts. The entire Richmond Club team went above and beyond to make sure delegates and guests were welcome and we cannot thank them enough.

TAB Retail Venue Geofencing & Digital Bet Renumeration

Hi All,

As previously communicated TAB NZ have been focussing on the completion of a piece of work to enable the identification of bets placed in TAB retail venues via TAB digital channels with the intention to be able to remunerate TAB contractors for this activity (similar to bets placed via physical retail terminals).

Minimum wage rises by $1.10 on 1 April 2021

23 March 2021

The Government has  confirmed that the adult minimum wage will increase, from $18.90 to $20.00 per hour on 1 April 2021.

The starting-out and training minimum wage rates will also increase on 1 April 2021, from $15.12 to $16.00 per hour.
