Applications are now open for the Clubs New Zealand Cyclone Relief Fund

We would like to remind members that we are currently accepting applications for the distribution of the funds to clubs impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle and the extreme weather events impacting our communities.
Clubs that were impacted or located in communities impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle can apply for funds. You will need to tell us how your club/community was impacted, along with how you intend to use any funds received for the benefit of your members or the community.

Following the devastating effects of Cyclone Gabrielle earlier this year, Clubs across New Zealand expressed a desire to offer support to members of the club community. Clubs New Zealand was able to facilitate this support by establishing the Clubs New Zealand Cyclone Relief Fund.
We are very proud to confirm that as of today more than $18,000 has been contributed to the fund by your fellow clubs and their members.
Get prepared for Easter and ANZAC day - Trading Hours Employee Entitlements

Good Friday is kicking off the Easter and ANZAC Day public holidays for 2023 on Friday 7th April. With these holidays, there is always some confusion around the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and how it applies to trading hours for Club Licences and employee entitlements.

The Clubs New Zealand 2023 Conference, AGM & EXPO was held from the 16th through to the 19th of March hosted by the Hornby Club. The Clubs New Zealand Conference, and & EXPO gives clubs from right across New Zealand the opportunity to come together, enjoy each other’s company and learn about fantastic opportunities, new ideas and more.
We would like to thank everyone who attended conference this year and we would like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to the Hornby Club for being fantastic hosts. The entire Hornby Club team went above and beyond to make sure delegates and guests were welcome and we cannot thank them enough.

MEDIA RELEASE: Clubs New Zealand introduces its model constitution to support members transition to the Incorporated Societies Act 2022

Clubs New Zealand is proud to introduce the Clubs New Zealand model constitution to ensure that its member clubs are supported and prepared ahead of the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 reregistration period later this year.
"For our members to maintain their incorporated status they will need to reregister under the new Act, and that involves ensuring that their constitutions meet the new requirements, says Chief Executive, Larry Graham.

Sale and Supply of Alcohol (Community Participation) Amendment Bill

On the 7th of December 2022, Justice Minister, Hon Kiritapu Allan introduced the Sale and Supply of Alcohol (Community Participation) Amendment Bill to Parliament. The Bill passed its first reading on the 13th of December and will now move to the Select Committee phase.
Clubs New Zealand 2022 Sport $2,000 Prezzy Card Winner is....

The draw to find the winner of the 2022 Clubs New Zealand Sport $2,000 Prezzy Card Voucher, was recently conducted by Clubs New Zealand President, Terry Ray. We would like to congratulate the winner, Sally Davies of the Tauranga Citizens Club.
Sally entered the draw by participating in the Clubs New Zealand 2022 National Women's Indoor Bowls Tournament, that was hosted by the Richmond Club in July.

Ahead of the election next year the Government is racing through its legislation agenda, and Clubs New Zealand is committed to ensuring that the voice of Clubs is heard. 2022 has been incredibly busy on the advocacy front and we are expecting this to ramp up into early 2023.
As we head into December we reflect on the year that was and acknowledge what we have collectively achieved.
