Tournaments a strength of the Clubs New Zealand network
29 June 2026
One of the greatest strengths of the Clubs New Zealand network is the depth and consistency of our tournament calendar. With more than 55 sporting tournaments annually, interclub and national competitions keep members active, connected, and engaged, while also showcasing exactly what makes clubs such powerful community hubs.
Across the country, clubs are preparing to host three national tournaments over the coming months. These events bring together players of all ages and abilities, reinforcing that club sport is accessible, welcoming, and something everyone can enjoy.
National Masters 8 Ball – 12–17 July, Hornby Club Hornby will host the Master’s 8 Ball in July, welcoming experienced players from across the network for a week of high‑quality competition and strong sporting camaraderie.
National Euchre – 15–18 August, Kaiapoi Club Kaiapoi’s strong cards culture makes it a natural home for this year’s National Euchre Tournament. Players can expect competitive tables, great hospitality, and plenty of social connection.
National 8 Ball – 5–10 October, Cashmere Club Cashmere will host the premier 8 Ball event of the year in October, drawing large fields and delivering the atmosphere and energy that make national tournaments a highlight of the calendar.
Clubs New Zealand CEO Lucy Waterreus says tournaments are central to the club experience.
“Our tournaments bring people together, keep members active, and strengthen the connections that make clubs so important in their communities. We are excited to bring another year of fantastic competition for clubs and their members to enjoy.”
