This year's Clubs New Zealand Race Day at Tauherenikau was everything we hoped for and more. The Wairarapa turned on a stunning summer's day and the clubs village was humming from the moment the gates opened.
We were thrilled to welcome around 380 club members, with some travelling impressive distances, including groups from Wanganui and Tokoroa, to be part of the event. Seeing so many of our clubs come together is always a highlight, and this year was no exception.
A day like this doesn't happen without a huge amount of work behind the scenes. The Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club once again went above and beyond, and we want to extend a massive thank you to their staff and volunteers. Their commitment and energy are a big part of what makes this event such as success.
We're also extremely grateful to the Tauherenikau Racing Club for hosting us.
Of course, it wouldn't be Race Day without some friendly rivalry. The Interclub Punting Competition was fiercely contested this year, with clubs putting their best bets forward. Congratulations to Castlecliff Club, who claimed the title and the trophy after a hard-fought competition.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event and contributed to another memorable day. We look forward to doing it all again next year.
