Relevant for club management and executive

Clubs New Zealand is pleased to announce a new partnership with Allara Global, marking the first step in the development of a wider online learning platform for club staff and volunteers.

We're launching with free access to online Problem Gambling Awareness Training for clubs participating in the Gambling Compliance Programme, with additional training opportunities planned for the future.

This practical training can be completed anytime, anywhere, giving clubs a flexible option for meeting training requirements while supporting your harm minimisation responsibilities. Whether it's onboarding a new staff member, providing a refresher between annual training sessions, or making training more accessible for busy teams, the online platform puts learning at your fingertips.

Staff can register in minutes and gain immediate access to the training, allowing them to complete it before a shift, between commitments, or from home at a time that suits them.

Useful Information

To ensure training records and certificates are generated correctly, each staff member must register using their own unique email address.

When completing the registration form, staff should take care to enter their details accurately, particularly their name and email address. Training certificates are generated automatically using the information provided during registration, and accounts cannot be shared between multiple staff members.

The email address used during registration will become the staff member's login for the Allara platform and can be used to access future training modules assigned through the system.

Online or Face-to-Face?

While the introduction of online training provides greater flexibility and accessibility, Clubs New Zealand continues to recommend that venue managers and staff complete face-to-face problem gambling awareness training annually in line with Department of Internal Affairs best practice guidelines. Face-to-face training remains an important opportunity to build confidence, discuss real-world scenarios, and develop practical skills for engaging with patrons who may be experiencing gambling harm.

This new online training option makes it easier than ever for clubs to ensure staff have access to high-quality, compliant problem gambling awareness training whenever they need it.
