Clubs New Zealand is pleased to confirm the 2026 dates for our hugely popular Management Essentials Training. This course continues to be one of our most in-demand courses, and for good reason: it gives managers, new and experiences, the practical knowledge and confidence they need to lead successful, future-ready clubs.

Who is the course for?
Management Essentials is designed for all experience levels, from those stepping into club management for the first time to seasoned managers wanting to refresh and strengthen their operational and compliance skills. The course provides space for real conversation, practical scenarios and discussion about the issues managers are facing right now in their clubs.
What the course covers
Across two days, the agenda offers a mix of essential knowledge and practical tools. Topics include:
- Understanding Clubs New Zealand and the support available through our team and website.
- Financial oversight for clubs; audits, gaming accounts and core accounting principles.
- Key legislation impacting clubs, including Sale and Supply, Incorporated Societies, Class 4 Gaming and more.
- Human resources and managing conflict in the club environment
- Member engagement, promotions and operational oversights that drive sustainable revenue.
This course is deliberately practical, giving managers the chance to explore challenges, share experiences and refine their approach to everyday club management.
