Circular 25-080

Relevant for member clubs

Clubs New Zealand, in partnership with Manage Group, is pleased to introduce Module 1 of the Clubs Health & Safety Passport, a practical training session designed specifically for club environments.

This module provides participants with the essential skills and understanding to manage health and safety effectively across three key areas.

  1. Risks: Learn how to identify and assess risks within your club and understand how these link with your insurance requirements. From using fryer covers to minimising multi-board use, participants will learn practical ways to reduce hazards and create a safer workplace.
  2. Competencies: To manage risks, we need competent people. This section explores what competency looks like in a club setting and the types of training that make a difference, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), self-led learning and other development opportunities.
  3. Incidents: While no one wants an incident to occur, they offer valuable opportunities for improvement. The module walks through how to record, investigate and learn from incidents, ensuring steps are taken to prevent reoccurrence.

By completing Module 1 you will understand how to identify and control key risks, recognise the training needs within your team and be able to investigate incidents and put preventative measures in place.
