The Australian Fires - How we can help our neighbours

6 January 2020

It is fair to say that our Australian Friends are not far from our thoughts at present.  The fire season started early this summer, but it has since escalated with the rising Summer temperatures, and the lack of rain.

We have had a few clubs reach out to us asking how they could help or where donations could be directed.  We have been in touch with our friends over at ClubsNSW and have provided an options for clubs.  We have also pulled together some suggestions for individuals and members looking to donate.

Where clubs can donate

ClubsNSW Bushfire Appeal

The bushfire fund established by ClubsNSW will raise funds to support the Rural Fire Service, a volunteer-based firefighting agency, including the purchase of much-needed equipment.

ClubsNSW has made a donation of $50,000 to kick-start the appeal. We have received a number of calls from clubs, including Campsie RSL Club and Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club indicating they want to make substantial contributions.
