Promoting the Clubs New Zealand App to Your Members

The Clubs New Zealand App is picking up more user every week as members seek more from their membership, enjoy the ease of visiting clubs without having to worry about another card in their back pocket and of course they can find the club nearest to them wherever they are in New Zealand. As the app gains popularity we at National Office are thinking about how best to promote the app and provide you the clubs with resources to help your members get on board.
Next week all clubs will be receiving a package containing new advertising flyers for the Clubs New Zealand Mobile App.
The App Flyers are intended to replace the 2018/19 fold out membership lists as we look to encourage club members to utilise the in-app and online club locators.
We recommend that the flyers be included in your clubs new member packs, given out at membership renewal time or placed in a location where members can help themselves to a flyer when visiting the club.

Signing Members up to the Clubs New Zealand App
Anyone can download and start using the app right away, however, the sign in function which provides the digital membership card is only available to those who have registered their membership details with Clubs New Zealand as this feature is powered by our CRM (customer relationship manager).
We have a form set up on the Clubs New Zealand website and within the app which members can complete and collects all the information required to generate the digital membership card.
Upon receiving a request to join the app from a club member, we will contact their home club to verify their membership details, this way we are ensuring that only financial club members are gaining access to the Clubs New Zealand App. Many of you will have received an email (or many) requesting you to verify a members details before we load them into the system.
This process can be made easier by sharing your clubs database with Clubs New Zealand
By submitting your clubs database to Clubs New Zealand it will remove the need to individually verify each member that wants to sign up for the app.
Even if you do not have all the data that is required e.g. Date of Birth we can load the information that you do have and fill in the gaps as members start utilising the app.
To share your database you will need to send through to Clubs New Zealand a CSV file exported from your database.
The data fields we are asking for are (those with an Asterix are required but talk to Lucy at National Office if you are unable to export all the fields, we can always come up with a plan to make it work);
- Member First Name*
- Member Surname*
- Date of Birth*
- Membership Number*
- Membership Expiry*
- Membership Type*
We have produced an excel template so that you can see exactly what information we require and the format we require it in for the data import to be successful.
Once you have exported your member data please send it through to email@example.com we will review the data file to ensure that it will be successfully loaded.
Once we are able to load your members data we will come back to you to confirm it is good to go and we will also be looking to collect some information about the systems and processes that your club is currently using. It is important that every club answer the questionnaire as this will allow us to explore options for automating the membership update process.
