New system for Incorporated Societies launching 30 September 2019

4 September 2019

This week Clubs New Zealand was invited to preview the new online register for Incorporated Societies which will be launching on the 30th September 2019.

The current online register is trooper that has been in operation in one iteration or another for around 20 years, however, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment have identified that a new system is required, particularly in order to support changes that may be introduced if the Incorporated Societies Bill is progressed.

The new online system will have a very similar look and feel to the companies register and will be packed with help tips and guides throughout.

Couple of things to note:

  • If you have financial statements due, they need to be filed by 1pm Friday 13th September - this is the date that the current register will go offline.
  • The new register will move away from the use of a registry key to a RealMe login - there will be instructions outlining how to set up the RealMe login if you don't already have one and how to prove you have authority to manage a societies detail.

By all accounts the new online register will make it easier than ever to maintain your clubs details within the Incorporated Societies register.  For those that prefer you will be able to continue to file manually and all the forms and details will be available on the new site.

It is our understanding that other registers such as Friendly Societies will be moved to the new system early in 2020, so for those of you in that boat watch this space.
