IRD Payday Filing
22 January 2019
By now you will have heard about payday filing and that from the 1 April 2019 employers must:
- File employment information every payday instead of an Employer monthly schedule (IR348).
- Provide new and departing employees' address information, as well as their date of birth - if they have provided it to you.
- File electronically (from payday compatible software or through myIR) if your annual PAYE/ESCT is $50,000 or more.
Note: The due date for payment remains the same at the 20th of the month (or 5th and 20th of the month for twice-monthly filers).
Employee Information (Important to Note):
The Privacy Act allows employers to collect personal information from their employees for valid work purposes only. The employer must protect the privacy of personal information and not disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Employees should be made aware of what happens to their personal information. You should therefore let your employee know that this information will now be provided to IRD.
If you have an employee (new or existing) opting into KiwiSaver, you will need to ensure their address information is collected and correctly entered in your clubs payroll system.
Clubs New Zealand recommends that you contact your payroll provider to discuss your clubs needs and requirements.
