Registrations for the Clubs New Zealand 2018 Conference & AGM hosted by the St John's Club close tomorrow Friday 23rd February 2018, if you have not submitted your registration now is the time to do so.

The conference programme is almost complete and you can view the latest copy of the programme below. This year's Conference, Expo & AGM promises to be educational, interactive and motivational as we look to explore future opportunities, the role of clubs in the community all while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Thursday will see the return of the ever-popular Clubs New Zealand Expo featuring partners and suppliers to the club industry.  The Expo will be starting at 12.00pm and running through to 6.00pm. The expo will also run from midday on Friday, however we encourage ALL attendees to get behind the expo and to ensure that your arrival in Wanganui gives you ample time to speak to exhibitors and see what is on offer.

Friday is conference day with a line up of fantastic presenters two of which we have to introduce to you below. The Expo will run from 12.35pm – 5.00pm and will be a great opportunity to continue discussions or get to exhibitors you did not reach on Thursday.  After the presentations are over we will once again be celebrating our amazing industry with the Clubs New Zealand Formal Dinner.

Saturday morning is dedicated to Clubs New Zealand business as we look back on the year that was 2017 and where we are heading in 2018 and beyond.  We look forward to seeing you all there!

In the lead up to the 2018 Conference we would now like to introduce you to two of this years conference presenters Hamish McDouall and Tony Wheeler.

Hamish McDouall

Hamish was born and raised in Whanganui. He studied at the University of Otago and completed a MA in New Zealand Literature and a LLB. After five years living in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Russia, he returned to work as a lawyer in Lower Hutt and Whanganui. He returned to Whanganui in 2008 with his wife Elinor who is an artist and architect and their young family Bede and Elise. He has published four non-fiction books about New Zealand sport and film. He still retains some vestigial renown for his achievements in his early twenties winning Mastermind and Sale of the Century.

We look forward to hearing from Hamish how clubs and local councils can work together to serve their communities.

Tony Wheeler

Most of Tony's working life has been in the nightclub, bar and restaurant trade, right from his early years as a DJ doing private events and on premises gigs right through to building his own venues, and helping to build venues for customers.

Tony has managed venues, designed promotions and event equipment and everything in between. Tony is passionate about the hospitality trade, and loves helping venues to grow.

Over the last 15 years Tony has worked to help build great teams of people, and has specialized in team training from sales staff through to management and industry reps. Tony has a flair for the development and re-development of on-premise venues, bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes.

After delivering a fantastic presentation at the 2017 Club Management Conference we have invited Tony to the Clubs New Zealand conference to talk all things hospitality and we guarantee you will leave excited about the opportunities and ready to make positive changes at your club.
