Based in the heart of beautiful Ashburton township, The Ashburton Club & MSA offers its members the best of bar facilities, meals, a gaming lounge, TAB, rooms for hire, raffles, bands and entertainment, and venues for hire for functions. The Club also owns Superliquor Ashburton, a leased restaurant, and retail outlets.

The vision of The Ashburton Club & MSA is to provide the best offerings to our more than 3300 members and 18 sports adjuncts.

The Ashburton Club is also the venue for various functions, events, and gigs for the local community.

The job:
 
Reporting to the President of the Committee of the Ashburton Club & MSA, the Club General Manager will have the overall operational and financial responsibility for managing the Club, ensuring the Club operates profitably and sustainably.

Management of the team is a key requirement of this role, together with managing the Club’s finances, forecasting requirements, and monthly reports to the Committee.

You will be member focused. You will oversee and support the management of Superliquor Ashburton and work closely with 18 sports adjuncts. Identifying opportunities to grow offerings to our members and enhance customer experiences across the Club.
 
This is an exciting, full-time role in an ever varied, fast-paced working environment.
 
The ideal candidate:
 
To be successful in this role you will have good experience in managing a Club or similar, staff management and will display excellent leadership, customer service, and financial management skills.
 
You will be a strong strategic thinker with excellent relationship management skills. You will be an energetic problem solver and have a keen eye for detail and strong computer skills. Change management skills are desirable.
 
You will be able to manage work to tight deadlines, lead people, and optimize resources to achieve positive results.
 
You must have a valid Duty Manager’s certificate or be able to get one, and any additional qualifications or study in business administration, and/or hospitality will be beneficial.
