Jackpot Minimum Equipment Standards
Jackpot Minimum Equipment Standards
Clubs New Zealand will again be submitting a submission on Minimum Equipment Standards for Class 4 Jackpots. We successfully managed to delay the introduction of downloadable jackpots in 2008 sighting the damage they can cause due to the lack of Harm Minimisation Standards and the burden to clubs of extra costs on top of PIDs and EMS.
However the Department of Internal Affairs is determined to introduce downloadable jackpot systems for class 4 gambling as a means of tracking jackpots through EMS. Therefore we need to restate our concerns and also offer ideas on how it can best work without harming our members and adding excessive extra costs to our clubs.
All clubs with class 4 gaming machines should have received the consultation paper. If not these are available here:
Covering Letter 33.58 Kb and
Consultation Document 132.00 Kb
This is your Clubs chance to have an input into the requirement for downloadable jackpots by forwarding your submission to the DIA and providing any ideas you may have including what you believe would be a safe payout threshold limit.
The submissions must be received at the DIA by 19th February 2010. However the DIA has indicated to me that if our member's submissions continue to come in drips and drabs after that date they won't be ignored.
The
Submission Template 65.50 Kb prepared for your use simply requires the yellow areas to be replaced with your Clubs details or you can alter the template as you wish.
Written submissions can be sent to:
