It has been brought to our attention that an article "Venue Operators – Be Warned", published in the Club Industry Newsletter on Friday 23rd September has caused some confusion for a number of clubs.

We have had clarification from the DIA that the article was aimed at Class 4 Public venues and not relevant to Clubs, Managers, Committees and their Management. This is because many managers who manage the clubs gaming are also involved in secretarial duties to committees that consider Grants, and because Clubs apply the majority of their funds, rather than distribute which are those the article was targeting.
