As an EFTPOS terminal user, you will be aware that Visa and MasterCard have introduced new global security standards for EFTPOS terminals. These new standards ensure that you and your customers have the best protection available against card fraud, faster transaction processing and ability to accept the new variety of chip cards in use.

Any business operating version 5.1 terminals on the Paymark network must ensure these are upgraded to version 6.0 by 1 June 2011. Any non-compliant terminals after this date will be disconnected from the Paymark network. This could have serious implications on your cash flow, customer service and business continuity.

1. Find your terminal ID on your EFTPOS receipt.
2.  Check your terminal version number by typing in your terminal ID in the Are You Ready? website at www.areyouready.co.nz
3. If you received a "Not Ready" response you'll need to arrange for that terminal to be upgraded immediately to avoid any disruption to your business:
