Please find below Parliament's Digests which are summaries of the Employment Relations Amendment Bill and Holidays Amendment Bill which have both passed their first readings and been sent to Select Committees.

Clubs New Zealand provided the Department of Labour with submissions on Vulnerable Employees and Personal Grievances earlier in the year. These were taken into consideration when the Employment Relations Amendment Bill was composed for the government.

This is your opportunity if there are issues raised in the current bills before parliament that your club believes needs addressing. I will compile your comments to decide whether there is enough feedback to warrant further action by this office. Feedback is required no later than 10th September 2010.

The Food Bill is also at Select Committee stage. Clubs New Zealand was involved with the creation of the Bill and believes it is a huge step forward from the previous Act. Your comments on this Bill are also appreciated.
