Members will be fully aware of the devastation that has occurred in the Canterbury District due to the earthquake on 4th September 2010 and again on 22nd February 2011.

Our member clubs haven't been spared the devastation which has come in various forms and severity. It is still very unclear as to the level of damage, if any our member clubs have suffered and the time frames around when they will be back up and running, let alone fully functional and operating at full capacity.

This is having an impact on a number of 2011 Clubs New Zealand Sports Tournaments that Canterbury Clubs have won the right to host. Some of these clubs are working frantically to ascertain the viability of still hosting the tournaments; whether alternative venues can be found; whether the tournament should be shifted out of Canterbury and expressions of interest sort by other clubs; whether the tournaments can be postponed or whether it is too late and the tournament cancelled. 

Clubs New Zealand, Clubs New Zealand Darts Association and Clubs New Zealand 8 Ball Association are all working together with these clubs to come up with the best options available. At this stage the following decisions, if any, have been made in regards to the 2011 tournaments scheduled to be hosted by clubs in Canterbury:
