Club Managers Group - Aussie Update

thumb_club_managers_groupOn the 14th December the Club Managers Group Committee (with the exception of Neil who was subbed by Dean Candy) met in Wellington with Larry and Gus from Clubs New Zealand Head Office and RNZRSA CEO Stephen Clarke and Operations Manager David Williams to progress our combined Conferences next year which will coincide with the Australasian Gaming Expo.

The meeting went extremely well and a commitment was made by the two organisations to combine for this event.

A draft programme was designed as it is important to get as much information out as early as possible so that you can all start to prepare for what promises to our most enlightening Conference in many years. The following extracts are from some basic minutes taken from the meeting. 

Accommodation, Flights and Transport

Accommodation, Flights, Airport Transfers (and Breakfast) are the responsibility and cost of the individual. We have decided that Rydges, which is 4 Star Hotel in Sydney, will become our base and we will select and announce a 3 Star Hotel option taking into account quality, price and proximity to Rydges.

Registration Fee

There will still be a registration fee but it will be no greater than previous years and it is hoped that apart from personal expenses all other associated costs for financial Club Managers Group Members will be covered, but an additional levy will apply to non-financial Members.

Those wishing to attend the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE), which is a must see and one of the main reasons for the Aussie trip, will need to register online before departing. Details of how to register will be released closer to the event, registration is free.

The Programme

The basic programme concept is as follows;

Monday 20th August 2012

Clubs New Zealand and RNZRSA Conference registrations

Possible sponsored social afternoon trip to a Pub/Club and maybe an evening Rugby League match that night.

Tuesday 21st August 2012

Conference registrations will continue in the morning.

Attend AGE followed by sponsored function that evening.

Wednesday 22nd August 2012

Start the day by visiting St George Illawarra RL Club.

Official welcome and conference opening from keynote speaker Peter Newell, Chairman Clubs Australia, Chairman Clubs NSW and Director of the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Lunch at the St George Illawarra RL Club.

Visit Tradies Club in the afternoon before returning to accommodation.

Sponsored function in the evening.

Thursday 23rd August 2012

Visit DY RSL Club in the morning.

Combined Conference followed by separate AGMs

Possibly visit a Pub on the way back to various accommodation.

Evening will be left free for delegates.
